Dr. Todd Sinett Biography

A second-generation chiropractor who never had any intention of
following in his father's footsteps, Dr. Todd Sinett has turned his
father's mission of healing into his own passion. After witnessing his
father's patient's almost miraculous health benefits over the years,
Dr. Sinett was convinced that he had found his career - and - life path.

A native of Merrick Long Island, Dr. Sinett, attended American
University in Washington D.C, before receiving his doctorate from New
York Chiropractic. Dr. Sinett is quick to point out that his parents
were both role models and best friends. Another childhood influence
happened to be his father's patients. "Just seeing the gratitude and
the difference in people's lives was a tremendous inspiration for me,"
cites Sinett.

Dr. Sinett sets himself apart from others in his field by listening to
the whole body. By getting a patient into balance and by treating
individuals on three different levels is when the patient responds the
best: Structural (muscles and bones), Chemical (diet and nutrition) and
Emotional (everyday stress). Dr. Sinett views these three levels as the
core of what he does and what he feels true health is really all about.
A key principle of Dr. Sinett's practice, which is located on Madison
Avenue, N.Y., is not to merely chase a patient's symptoms but to help
them with their overall health.

A key moment in Dr. Sinett's life occurred while on a family vacation
to Aruba. His father was asked by a pediatrician to examine a boy who
had been having severe headaches everyday for the past eight years. The
senior Sinett noticed that one of the boy's cranial bones was not
moving properly as he breathed (cranial bones move in a rhythmic wave
like pattern while breathing) and that he had a lot of tension in his
jaw. Two simple manual corrections and the boy was pain free for the
first time in his young life. "That was my Aha! Moment," recalls Dr.
Sinett. "I saw that this knowledge was so important, it had to be
shared with as many people as possible."

It was that experience and his father's nine-month battle with severe
back pain, that led Dr. Sinett to write his upcoming book, The Truth
About Back Pain (Penguin/Perigee Spring 2008). He wants to share his
knowledge and the truth with everyone, to not only heal chronic back
pain but also to educate people on how they can prevent it by teaching
them to look at their overall health via the 3 levels: Structural,
Chemical and Emotional.

Dr. Sinett, an avid reader and frequent traveler, currently lives in
Sands Point, NY with his wife and family. When not practicing favorite
hobbies such as Tae Kwon Do and tennis, Dr. Sinett can be found in the
kitchen cooking meals with his family.
